API compatibility

On this page

Borg's gateway accepts OpenAI-compatible chat/completions requests. Put a Borg lane ID in the model field to select the lane for the request. The quickstart shows this shape in curl, Python, and Node.js examples, including where to find the gateway URL and key. This is a developer preview, not a complete API reference.

Accepted request shapes

You can send an OpenAI-compatible chat/completions request with a lane ID in model, as the quickstart demonstrates. The gateway also accepts Anthropic-messages-shaped requests. These are the two accepted request shapes described here; this page does not claim support for other vendor API formats. Choose the shape appropriate to your integration, and use a Borg lane ID when following the chat/completions example.

Streaming and reference status

Streaming is supported. The full parameter reference is not yet published, so this page does not enumerate every field or describe stream event details. Do not treat the absence of a full reference as a statement that the request shapes above or streaming are unavailable. Equally, do not infer support for additional parameters or formats from the word “compatible.” For a first call using the documented chat/completions shape, start with the quickstart examples and the URL and key from Borg Settings.
